North to… the NWT!

In August 2006, Jon and I left Patches with Mairi and went on a road trip to across the arctic circle to the NWT. We drove almost every stretch of highway in 10 days and visited Wood Buffalo NP, the Great Slave Lake, Yellowknife and the Nahanni River. This was my first ever trip this far north and I loved the landscape.

After driving from Calgary to the border…

… we stopped at every waterfall along the way…

… visited Wood Buffalo National Park…

… got our oil changed in Yellow Knife…

… and fought off mosquitos at the Nahanni River…
