Winter CSA Share #3

I thought I was going to get out of having to drive to school in the snow but today (just two days shy of being done) it snowed!  I got to wear my fancy winter boots and a big fuzzy sweater to school and I made a latte so it wasn’t really that bad. And it was CSA share pick up day which makes any kind of day a good day!

This time we got potatoes, beets, onions, garlic, carrots and a cabbage (I am super excited about the cabbage for some reason). Unfortunately it’s getting dark so photographing my CSA share after work is getting harder and harder. The veggies look much nicer in real life! I also picked up our flour share (in the bag) and splurged on a loaf of cinnamon swirl bread from another vender at the market.

I’ve been supplementing my CSA share with some veggies from SPUD and that seems to be working out for us without having to buy too many items. One thing I miss is leafy veggies, so one of these days I’m going to get my sprouter out so that I can eat fresh greens that were grown in my own house again. I was a little sick of salads after eating all the lettuce we grew but now I miss just going out and picking our dinner salad. Sigh, July seems so far away already.
