A Country Drive and Picnic

On our last full day of vacation we headed out for a scenic drive to Stratford. I’d never been and it seemed the perfect half day destination.

We started our trip with a stop in Wellesley for some apple products. We picked up some apple cider, apple syrup and apple butter.

From Wellesley we went to Shakespeare. There wasn’t much happening in Shakespeare but we did drive through some very pretty farmland.

And past lots of old buildings, including this fantastic old church.

From Shakespeare we went to Stratford and shopped for chocolates and cheese cake before having a picnic lunch beside the river.

My MIL brought a table cloth and stuff for sandwiches and we finished it with a few chocolates and some peach cheese cake.

I’ve been wanting to go on a picnic so this was perfect. We watched the ducks and swans on the river for a while before driving back to Baden. A pretty nice outing!
