We have been planning our summer trip to Newfoundland for forever so it was almost a shock when it was finally time to actually go on the trip. We flew the red-eye direct from Calgary to St. John’s last night which was quick (only about 5.5 hours) but left us in a semi-sleep like state when we arrived at 8 am in the morning.
We perked up slightly after we dropped our bags off at our B and B and headed down to the waterfront. We’re only a few blocks away from the harbour and all sorts of cute little restaurants.
Breakfast was had and then we spent some time wandering the streets while we waited for our rooms to be available. There are hills, historic buildings and coloured houses all in the area we are staying. Too quaint!
After our rambles we retired to our B and B for an extended nap and then did some more exploring including the railway museum. It was cold and windy so I was happy I’d brought a puffy jacket!
Dinner and some local beers were enjoyed at The Duke and we finished off the night with a guided walking tour. A really great start to what I’m sure is going to be an awesome adventure!
